Happy Friday, friends! You know what? I’m feeling so fine. It was a great (last) week around here because it feels like spring and *checks calendar* it’s looking like spring. March = spring, August = fall. I don’t make the rules, I blindly follow them. This week, I re-introduced my bare legs to the fresh air for the first time since October and that was rough.  I went cold turkey on Sunday, no warning, just a skort on a patio and a nice summer breeze because Texas is hot already. I was glad to bust out this Mango skort again, she will be getting lots of wear this spring / summer, as she was a touch too big last summer and now she fits just right. Not my favorite update, but glad she still fits ya know?

As you’ll see below there are some new hot bombshells entering the villa this week, AKA new pieces in my closet. Rent the Runway reached out to see if I wanted to try their service this month and I of course said YES, I’m not a dummy. So I signed up and turns out they shipped incredibly fast and I’ve already worn like 3 things from them. Also they have handbags and my life has just been changed. Anyways, this isn’t sponsored but it was a free two-month trial and if you sign up using this link + my code you can get 50% off your first month, so that’s chill! Use this code! RTRXKSKEEN I’ll probably do a review / comparison with Nuuly once I get through a whole month, too.

All that to say, I’ve denoted the ‘rented’ items below with an asterisk. 🙂

Friday | WFH + family dinner out

I received my RTR shipment this day and immediately tossed on this blazer. It matches that Gap sweater top to a tee! These jeans are also rented. They’re the Levi’s Baggy Dad jean and at first I thought they weren’t going to fit but then they did. It’s like all Levi’s, at first they’re tight then they stretch. (I’m in the 30, TTS fit.)

We went out to dinner this night to our favorite Mexican restaurant and made it home in time to finish the Traitors finale. A really nice Friday night, if you ask me.

Saturday | casual date night

It’s been jacket weather in the mornings / evenings around here and I’m really glad because I’ve been loving my blazers and light jackets, like this one from Amazon. (The link is a bit messed up, so maybe check back on it here in a bit!) I’ve been wearing it a lot lately because I know jacket / layering weather isn’t for much longer.

Sunday | family play date

We had a multi family play date at a food truck yard last weekend and ended up staying the whole afternoon into the evening. It was beautiful out, almost hot at one point and we just hung out, ate and drank. It’s so much fun when you like your kid’s friends’ parents. Finding friend parents is hard and I feel like we hit the jackpot this year.

I was super bloated because of my stupid period so I knew I didn’t want to try on my denim shorts from last summer. I reached for this stretchy denim skort and it was perfect for this day. I still can’t believe it’s shorts / skirts season again. But I won’t lie and say I didn’t miss it because I did. Welcome back.

Monday | lunch date + airport run

This outfit is hard to see how chic it is but it’s the navy j.crew shell and my gap pants and it was a seamless look, let me tell you. So chic, if I do say so myself. I had to run B to the airport and we decided to grab a nice lunch before, so I dressed up a bit more this day than I would for a typical WFH day. Although I will say these pants are very comfortable and are nice to wear during a work day.

Tuesday | WFH

I LOVE this sweater so much! I had my eye on it when it first came out and was so glad this color didn’t sell out immediately. It’s bright, yes, but so worth it. It’s so pretty in person. I am in the medium and it’s a looser, relaxed fit.

This is that pair of Levi’s Baggy Dad jeans again! Once I got them zipped, they were a perfect fit. I’m in the 30 here.

Wednesday | coffee shop + appt

I’m going to be repeating this outfit tomorrow for a school event. I think this was just a soft launch for me, because this outfit needs to be worn again. I really like this Splendid sweater, it’s a nice weight and I love a short sleeve cardigan in the spring. (I’m in the large, this is typical for me and Splendid sweaters.)

My favorite Gap jeans. They’re just the best. I’m in the 30, TTS fit, regular length.

Thursday | WFH

I didn’t really want to get dressed so I reached for these very comfy jeans and the first blouse I saw. It was this last season Zara blouse and then I put on some cute earrings as well, just for the hell of it. Turned out to be a cute look! Nothing jeans and a cute top can’t conquer.
