…It’s boxer shorts. I just could never wrap my head around this trend for myself. I see other people do it, wear it and I appreciate it. I like how some people can pull things off; I might not be able to do the same and I respect that. And I thought boxer shorts was in that same camp.

But then I found these Quince poplin shorts and realized wait…this is boxer shorts adjacent and I LOVE those shorts this summer. So I did a quick find on some boxer shorts, read the reviews and here we are: in brown striped shorts. Do they look liike they could be pajamas? Yeah, they’re definitely loungewear adjacent. But this particular pair is a thicker cotton feeling, there is a structure to them, not like poplin pajamas. However, I feel like they look so chic here! And I could be wrong but I think the white with tan is helping these look like more than just boxers. Anything other than blue stripes color is the way to go f you want the less trend-forward version of boxers. If you want to go full trend, find some blue striped shorts and a big graphic tee and you are 2025, baby!

I wore these out to grab a quick drink on a patio and I didn’t once feel like I was under dressed. Wore this favorite top again and couldn’t believe what a great match these two are. You can find the top here and the shorts here!

By the way, if you, like me, love a giant tote — this is the one for you. I am not a small person and this tote makes me feel small. I can fit everything — I mean everything in here with room to spare. It’s under $150 at Quince right now. Highly recommend if you are looking for a back to school bag, work tote or just an everyday purse. It’s a favorite right now. Find it here!

Fit Details

I am in there large of the top and of the boxers. The top runs generous! No need to size up, this is big on me. The boxers I do recommend a size up if you are in between sizes and you want a looser fit.

Monthly Capsule Wardrobe

Each month I create monthly capsules out of my favorite pieces, perfectly curated for each month.
