I went and rented some polka dot pants this month and I absolutely love them. I don’t know why I chose these pants but I’m so glad I did. I’m pretty sure I’ll be keeping them because a) they’re very comfortable and b) I’ve already worn them three times. If they’re that versatile, I must be on to something with these pants. I will say they’re a weird fabric, not in a fit way or a feel but when you hold them up the look to be slightly sheer. But on they’re fully opaque. See? Weird. So I don’t know what in the viscose is going on there but I suppose I don’t mind. I like the fit, I like the fabric and I love the polka dots.
Speaking of fabrics, I feel like synthetics have been in the hot seat lately online. I’ve never really spoken about them but I don’t actually mind a synthetic fabric and never have. In the right piece, it makes sense. Like these pants in cotton would be weird — almost like pajama pants. But in a synthetic fabric, they move and drape well. Now would I take them in a silk? ABSOLUTELY. Could I get them in a silk for under $250? Probably not. (Well…I don’t know..maybe Quince will take on this challenge of polka dot silk pants? I’ll be first in line to buy.) I’m not super interested in filling my closet with cheap alternatives to natural fibers but I do find that *some* synthetic fabrics can have a place in my closet. What about you? Do you prioritize fabrics when shopping? I’m always curious to know.
These pants fit loosely at the waist and they’re very long, which is why I love them. I like the size large, but I do think they run true to size in a relaxed fit. You can find them at Nordstrom here.
If I had to recommend one oversized blazer, it’s this one. It’s a linen like feel, very oversized but completely tailored. I’ve been wearing it a lot lately as a layer since it’s been warmer here this winter. Plus it’s nice to toss on as a complete look when I don’t know what else to wear. Blazers always do the trick. I’m in the medium and it’s very oversized. Find it for under $100 here!

I don’t prioritize fabrics when I’m shopping for clothes per se, but if a fabric feels weird, I don’t buy the piece.
agreed completely. But this happens to me in a past tense way, like I’ll buy something and later think — I hate this fabric on me and I’ll note it for next time!
